About this deal

This assured novel stands out for the quality of its writing and imaginative vision, among the many other books about teenagers dealing with grief. Seeing Ross try to pass as a human and interact with them without having a clue of what they were doing was hilarious and definitely one of my favourite aspects of the novel. Elizabeth Shreeve tracks back to the start in Out of the Blue, when tiny microorganisms fed on each other. They may have been initially shallow-minded towards humans, but honestly who can blame them – humans suck.

Angelos translates to "messenger" in Greek; the Hebrew word for angel is mal'ach, also meaning messenger. The book follows two perspectives: Crest, a teen merperson, who, within one moon cycle, has to help a human to become an Elder and Sean, a human lifeguard who's miserable because of a recent break-up. I want to find the love of my life, and I think there's a world where Crest could have been that, but I need to love myself -- *live* for myself -- first. Perhaps one of the most surreal creatures to be found beneath the ocean’s surface, the jellyfish moves through the sea like a dancer. As I said, merpeople are all non-binary, so when Ross goes to land, they decide to maintain the pronouns they used under the sea instead of 'choosing a binary gender to blend in better with the humans', like their elders told them. Une romance à base de magie et sirène très cute, un chouïa long peut être mais très vraiment sympa et original. Out of the Blue: The Inside Story of the Unexpected Rise and Rapid Fall of Liz Truss is a non-fiction book about the British politician Liz Truss, written by Harry Cole and James Heale, published as an ebook on 1 November 2022 and in print and audio on 24 November. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods.

I used to love watching the TV series "H2O: Just Add Water", so of course I was excited to read this new queer take on a story about merpeople. This sophomore novel from Jason June dives into the many definitions of the word home and shows how love can help us find the truest versions of ourselves. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. The illustrations from Frann Preston-Gannon suggest a movement of time, a creeping wonder of new discoveries.

Thereafter, we see the balance shift in the Jurassic period, before burrows of safety protect early mammals when ‘ an asteroid hits Earth’ eradicating all large animals. Exploring LGBTQ+ themes in an uplifting and accessible way, this is also a book about accepting difference in all its forms. Maybe if we had broadened out more -- spent more time with Kavya or other characters or one dates where they actually talked about things, the "romance" aspect would have come through stronger. What’s unusual about Truss is that the lesson she seemingly took from hers was to believe in herself even more, and listen to others even less. Alongside the descriptions, Elizabeth Shreve runs a timeline across the double pages that we can have some sense of history.

Ivers wrote for The Times that the book "makes for a fantastic read" but "bears more resemblance to the work of Armando Iannucci" than Robert Caro. This striking necklace features an Imperial topaz of over 10 carats and subtle spikes for prongs, a nod to the sea creature’s familiar silhouette. At the same time, angels – or winged Beings – start falling from the sky, and the world is changed forever by it. A beautiful celebration of difference, this is a book about finding the bravery to be yourself, inspired by Robert Tregoning's own experience of coming out. And the other thing -- I fully admit that this is going to be a deeply personal irritation, but I was a competitive swimmer for most of my childhood and I JUST CAN'T with the details. The Sea Star theme features a field of custom-cut mother-of-pearl starfish entwined in coral-inspired motifs, providing a snapshot of the sea’s fascinating ecosystem. Friends Cameron, Zion and Aliyah embark on a second epic adventure to Chidani, a hidden kingdom populated by duplicitous gods, chilling monsters and powerful magic. It's also nice to see a larger main character and love interest, and never have body image become a barrier. The beautiful illustrations show brilliantly, despite their beauty, how dull it is when everything and everyone is forced to be the same.
