We tested the phone in more than a dozen locations over a 10-block radius, and speeds varied greatly from one block to the next. Again, the LG V60’s cameras are beaten by the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, especially with the latter’s baseline 30x digital zoom.

While there are still extensive customizations from the settings menu to app transitions, it’s cleaner and looks less dated. Compared to other Cell phones the LG V60 ThinQ 5G is awarded an overall alaScore™ of 88/100 = Very good quality. By itself, the phone has looks we’d expect on a Samsung flagship, including a pearl-hued glass back, gold-ish trim around the camera bump, and burnished aluminum sides. Still, as one of the more affordable 5G phones out there, the LG V60 has appeal for the average consumer, even if it doesn't outperform other flagships. For example, if it does not support one band, could make you not to have 4G coverage in rural areas or having bad coverage inside buildings, but having it without problems in cities.

While the headphone jack remains visible, the case covers up the outer USB-C port and replaces it with a magnetic connector. While I like the Dual Screen and it does add a much-needed unique flair to the V60, it’s not something I can keep on all the time. And if you’re a gamer, you’ll be happy to know we were able to play Asphalt 8 and PUBG: Mobile without any noticeable lag or skipped frames. The V60’s display supports HDR10+ for a bit more clarity in movies and other media, which keeps it more on par with displays on other flagships.

It’s a lot more industrial than most of the overly curvy 2020 flagships though, and that’s not really a bad thing.There are a few exceptions: apps that display across both screens, including LG’s proprietary Whale web browser, as well as several games and most of Google’s app suite. While it's boxier than the V50, the V60's relatively tall, narrow display and curved back help give it balance. The majority of our photos were nicely defined, though we did see some drop in detail in very dim light, likely due to noise reduction. LG had decided to keep the two screens very much the same, which is good when using them together but limits the panel on the phone.

In our battery rundown test, in which we stream HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness, we got an impressive 11 hours and 58 minutes of rundown time, close to the S20 Ultra's 12 hours and 4 minutes. However, while some of these are neat to play with, the gap between the screens is cumbersome, meaning only some apps, like Google Maps, are useful to view this way.When we plugged the standard charger into the V60 when it was down to 16%, the phone noted it would take just over an hour and a half to charge back to full. Along the side of the phone, you’ve got quite a lot of buttons, with a dedicated Google Assistant key sitting alongside a split volume rocker and power button. Please note that the availability of the clip tray feature may vary depending on the apps you have downloaded. The phone’s outstanding feature, cameras-wise, is its ability to capture video at 8K at 24fps (a 7680 x 4320 resolution), matching the Galaxy S20 line, with LG’s ‘Steady Record’ technology on hand to stabilize footage. While the V60’s massive battery will likely get you through a workday without issue, it also supports Quick Charge 4+ with the included adapter, as well as wireless charging.
