About this deal

Broken Dream still takes pride of place in our Flagship range, although we made the decision to retire Liquid Mistress. Whilst Broken Dream and Soundwave have been long term mainstays, we’ve never been afraid to keep things fresh. Over time we’ve added Calypso, and Yu Lu, and who knows what the future holds? And so in early 2020 we launched a beer called Refractions, initially also only on keg and cask, but later in cans as well. This beer was to become our new flagship beer, but under the guise of this name we could experiment with hop lineups and recipes. Lumina helps to prove that it's definitely not the same for beer. In fact, when launched we provided bars with the option of kegs badges - one that said "Gluten Free Session IPA" and one that said "Session IPA". Some people were deterred by the GF classification.

For that reason, Lumina has been a long time in the making. We’ve been brewing a pale ale series called Suspended in... for some time, working on hundreds of different combinations of malts and hops, taking notes on how they play together. Earlier this year, Lumina then took a life of its own under the guise of Refractions. Even then, tweaks were being made to each recipe to really hone what this beer is about. The good news is that this beer is vegan friendly and gluten free. It's brewed with premium Maris Otter barley; Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic and Chinook hops are used in the kettle then Azacca, Mosaic, Ekuanot and Hallertau Blanc are added late in the brewing process to give the brew a fruity punch. Siren Craft Brew is heavily inspired by the sirens of Greek mythology. Just as the Siren’s voices were said to entwine into a complex, layered melody, so do the ingredients that go into making great beer. Lumina is no different, a central burning energy with themes of wonder, luminosity and navigation weaving in and out of the night’s sky mirroring the shooting combination of flavours. In theyears since we launched Lumina, the beer has become our best selling and probably most requested, most well known beer. At the time of writing (August 2023) we have sold just shy of 100,000 cans via our webshop making it our best selling beer, outselling Broken Dream and and Yu Lu combined! While many beers are judged – rightly or wrongly – in relation to their hoppiness, Lumina’s excellence lies in its natural drinkability. It’s that almost mystical quality few beers possess, which makes it impossible not to grab another can from the fridge, followed by another. And then another. Just try and limit yourself to one can, I dare you.

Siren Craft Brew is a trailblazer in the drinks industry. Based in Finchampstead, Berkshire, the brand is on a mission to introduce modern and flavour-forward beers for everyone to adore.Although stout and porter are very similar, stout is darker and heavier, with a rich, creamy head. It’s flavoured and coloured by barley. Slightly sweeter to the taste than porter, stout also uses a portion of unmalted roasted barley, leading to some delicious, toasted flavours such as chocolate, coffee, oatmeal or cream. Pilsner Siren Craft Brew, the independent Berkshire brewery, will today unveil Lumina, the latest Session IPA to join the brand’s range of flavour-forward, quality beer. Lumina unifies years of experience, experimentation, and evolution to create Siren’s most universal beer to date. Expertly brewed in Finchampstead, Lumina is crafted with hoppy aromas of tropical mango and pineapple, enlightening your palate with an explosive flavour, flashes of citrus highlights and a refreshingly balanced bitterness. A beer that everyone can enjoy and appreciate. The big hitter of the box, Double Digits is a dank and delicious Double IPA. It’s a great example of how hop combinations can be put together, as Strata and Citra bring the fruit punch, Hallertau Blanc adds mid-notes and depth with light grape and gooseberry, Mosaic helps with tropical tones and dank aromas, while Chinook gives the beer the piney ‘edge’ that we’re looking for. It’s a challenge to make sure these beers aren’t too sweet, so the hops are crucial in that, with enough bitterness to balance things out against the malts and alcohol. We’re delighted with it, and what a pleasure to work with Protokoll in Berlin, who’s bar we’ve been long time fans of.

This is a refreshing, crisp and light yellow lager with a bitter, hoppy flavour. Pilsner originated in the Czech Republic and tends to be light in colour, ranging from light straw to golden, with strong hoppy, spicy and floral flavours. Some of the most iconic beers derive from the pilsner style, including Budweiser. Wheat beer

Grab yourself a bottle or buy the perfect pint – these are the tastiest, most refreshing beers

Siren has revealed its latest craft beer creation, Siren Lumina - a session ale that it hopes will leave you starry eyed. It pours with a beautiful glowing haze, quietly glistening in the surrounding light. A tropical fruit salad of aromas immediately emanates from the glass thanks to a supermassive dry-hop. Azacca brings a punchiness and a touch of pine, Mosaic offers tropical mango and guava, Ekuanot with pineapple notes and all of this balanced by Hallertau Blanc, with trademark white grape and mandarin. Lumina was an epiphany moment for Siren, a coming together of experience, experimentation, and evolution to create our most accessible session beer ever, with poise and adventure of universal appeal. It’s that feeling of epiphany that first sparked the ‘energy’ of the Lumina personality. A central burning energy source emanates movement across the canvas, with themes of luminosity and navigation weaving in and out of the sky. Beyond the numbers, it’s a journey through Siren past and present. The team at Ferment have put together a beautiful accompanying magazine, rich with behind the scenes access and interviews with collaborating breweries. The collaborations extend beyond the beer, with our design direction also coming from those breweries, which we think look incredible all together. We’ve been able to work with old friends (including ex-Head Brewers), new acquaintances and a couple of breweries who for some reason we’ve never worked with before, but found the perfect excuse here.
