About this deal

I do wonder, though, how long these chronicles can continue without Archer's readers getting very cross. Archer's characters, even in the midst of blazing run-ins maintain their British elegance and dry sense of humour. I suspect there will be quite a few readers who begin to express exasperation at Archer's refusal to end the story and tie up all the loose ends.

Then, without warning, Cedric Hardcastle, a bluff Yorkshireman who no one has come across before, takes his place on the board of Barringtons. The novel opens hoping to resolve the major cliffhanger after Sebastian is in a major car accident and someone has died. I'm totally hooked on the series and have been listening to it in audio, narrated by Alex Jennings, who is phenomenal. Be Careful What You Wish For begins where leaves off barely allowing a moment to breath before getting swept away in the lives of a family that seems to attract the most ruthless villains. No family saga would be complete without a villain, and this book has a good one, a well-drawn and believable character whose motivations are understandable. In the next novel in the series BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, Archer’s plot revolves around the Barrington family and the machinations of Don Pedro Martinez, an international criminal who blames Harry Clifton for the death of his son, and Alex Fisher who attended boarding school with Giles Barrington and continues to seek revenge against Giles and his family dating back to their days in boarding school and the loss of a recent parliamentary election.

With its short, cliff hanger ending, chapters, I found myself reading late into the night and at every opportunity during the day to find out what happens next. The arrow of a usual such story requires an opening in the initial phase that meets some sort of a closure in the climax to hang events across different times and characters together. The key addition that Archer makes is Cedric Hardcastle who is an example of how the author is able to shift the focus of the novel on a dime, a process that he repeats often. Don Pedro Martinez, a powerful new enemy of the Cliftons, uses his company shares in an attempt to place a hand-picked candidate in the chairmanship. Being a marvelous storyteller and a tease that he is, has managed to leave the story with an excellent cliff-hanger that constrains us to get the following installment (I already have it).Continuing with the fourth installment of Clifton Chronicles, this takes the reader through the lives of the Barrington and Clifton families. The sudden change in temperature made her shiver, and then her eyes settled on a trolley standing in the middle of the room.

When Harry checked out of the Pierre Hotel forty minutes later, he found Harold’s chauffeur standing on the sidewalk waiting to drive him to Idlewild airport. As for me, I will be starting 'Mightier Than the Sword' just as soon as I press the 'submit' button at the bottom of this review . Autore che non conoscevo, ho iniziato con un libro (il primo della serie dei Clifton) acquistato con il Giornale, poi il secondo e infine il terzo e poi.
