About this deal

As if all these features weren’t enough, the Ring Handheld tyre inflator can act as a powerbank, coming as it does with a USB charging port and micro USB cable so you can charge mobile devices and laptops. Given most people are used to tyre inflators being the size of a kids lunchbox with wires and cables, this small handlheld design might come as a surprise. It's about the size of a standard 50cl bottle of water and not much different in weight either. To charge it up took about three hours when it first arrived and since then we've been charging it up between uses. Turn your car on and hey presto, you're ready to go. The Ring RTC200 inflates a 13-inch tyre from flat to 35PSI in less than 4.5 minutes. The air hose does the job well enough and looks reasonably sturdy, but it's a bit shorter than we'd like at 50cm. The power cable is usefully long (3m), though, so it's not a big issue.

Includes storage compartment for tyre valve caps when in use. Shows pressure readings in kPA, bar and PSI.

Even when you have filtered products in line with our advice above, you are still presented with a large range of candidates, with the playing field being far from level. To help you along, we’ve gathered three small tyre inflators from reputable brands and tested them against one another to establish a winner. The Ring RTC2000 Cordless Handheld Tyre Inflator is a small rechargeable tyre inflator that's designed for topping up car tyres and inflating bicycle tyres, footballs (and the like) and even inflatables. It's light in weight (at roughly 500g) and comes with a two piece adaptor kit for sports equipment and Presta bike valves. There's an LED light and it also acts as a powerbank function if need be. Ring Automotive: a heavyweight in the automotive aftermarket world. Like Sealey, Ring Automotive caters to the wider public and specialists with a wide product range that includes car light bulbs, battery chargers, inspection lamps and many other things besides.

Ring's RTC2000 Rechargeable Handheld Tyre Inflator is a compact, lightweight, hand-held solution to inflating tyres on the go. The unit is small enough to keep in your boot and comes with its own case to keep the dirt out of your car. The 12v connector can be neatly wound away on a spindle, saving the normal tangle you get yourself into. The 3.5m lead isn’t perhaps as long as some on the market but can do the job of reaching the tyre furthest away from the in-car power supply. Despite its handy size, the Ring Handheld has a lot of functions that you more commonly find on the larger types of tyre inflators. The cable and air line are neatly stored within the inflator, while the three attachments for bikes, air beds and other inflatables are clipped into place near the 12v wire. Like most simple tyre inflators, there's no set up required with the RTC200; it's simply a case of plugging the 12v end into your car's cigarette lighter and attaching the compressor nozzle to the tyre's valve.
