About this deal

But, I will let you know that I truly think you should give it a try, I believe you'll find it entertaining, and a good read (no pun) . When she discovers a pair of volumes that have never been published, the echoes she receives from them hint of a tragic romance between the two respective authors. If so, be sure and check out my Aboutpage so you can learn a little more about me and my Looks Like Books mission. I was gifted this copy by Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

I don't often give books five stars when there are words I don't appreciate and sexual scenes in them. The half star I debited in my rating was in the early part of the book where the majority of time was spent in reading the text of the mysterious two authorless books. Barbara Davis’ novel, The Echo of Old Books, centers around the redeeming power of love and a bookseller with a special gift. Our features are original articles from our print magazines (these will say where they were originally published) or original articles commissioned for this site. The echoes of these old books guide her toward a profound understanding of her own path toward the future. Ashlyn becomes obsessed with solving the mystery of who these people were and what, exactly, actually happened. She is an avid book enthusiast and self-employed entrepreneur, with an inspiring passion for reading and learning. Davis has made sure to give her readers a ‘twofer’ - two love stories within one book - each a compelling romance on its own.Along the way, they learn more than either of them wanted to know about a past that STILL isn’t quite dead. If you’re like me and you simply cannot get enough of “ historicals“, then you may want to check out my reviews of some other historical fiction novels. Instead what we got is a weak present timeline that added all sorts of extraneous details that ultimately didn’t even seem all that important (and spoiler alert: I swear by the end the author even realized this because it stops being the main focus of the novel randomly? We also start out Belle and Hemi’s story knowing it’s going to be tragic, so it’s not exactly a spoiler that their 1941 idyll gets, well, spoiled. Ashlyn Greer is a rare book dealer who has the ‘gift’ of picking up emotions from the books she handles.
