About this deal

I have no choice but to sink bank into the mindset of a pre-teen girl watching Tokyo Mew Mew New - and surely it's pre-teen girls that are intended to be watching. When I first heard of the original uncensored version of this show, I heard a lot of things like, this is the next Sailor Moon, or this show does one of the best jobs at a philosophical approach to protecting nature, and how endangered animals, or how this show could have been as big as Naruto or Death Note. after watching the first episode, I was like, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS THE NEW SAILOR MOON!?" I was actually very unimpressed, in fact Ichigo's seiyu busted up my ear drums after the first episode. I was very bitter, and took my frustrations out on Masha: Masha gets renamed Mini-Mew. While Masha wasn't able to talk in complete sentences, Mini-Mew is shown to speak perfectly.

What was really surprising to me was just how satisfying the romance elements of the plot played out. Ichigo is pretty singularly focused for the most part on her main crush Aoyama, who eventually becomes her steady boyfriend. Though this doesn’t prevent her from occasionally having conflicting feelings about other boys which given her age is not all that surprising or unexpected. It was also nice to see that other characters were given their own relationships though some were better than others. (One in particular was frustratingly annoying) Ultimately the ending both for the main plot and the romance is extremely satisfying and well done. Dialogue is changed, sometimes for an unknown reason, leading to complete plot changes and the creation of many plot holes. One example of this is having Corina (Minto) telling Zoey that Kikki (Bu-Ling) lived in a homeless shelter and episodes later, showing her home and her siblings. They added a line from Corina saying that it was something that they all assumed to be true, but since it was her that said it to make Zoey feel guilty for telling Kikki to "go home", it was obvious that this was done due to the English dubbers not watching ahead and straying away from the original script. That all begins to change though as Tokyo Mew Mew starts to carve out its own identity. Even the battles themselves become a bit more sophisticated and unlike many similar shows like Sailor Moon, it doesn’t always feel like I am watching the same battles recycled over and over in every episode. While I wouldn’t say the magical action and special effects are amazing or even all that good, by the end they were far more impressive and interesting than most series of this type. Tokyo Mew Mew is a really awsome anime to watch.........everything about it*in my opinion* is SO awsome!i mean its story, art, sound, characters, and everything else is awsome Transcription: " Mori ni natta machi! Ichigo no egao o mamoru mono" ( Japanese: 森になった街!いちごの笑顔を守るもの)

Mint gets a more focused storyline later after her idol and fifth Mew Mew, the rising starlet Zakuro, is introduced. But I think with shows that focus on ensemble casts and strong friendships, the monster-of-the-week screwing around really helps when you're trying to get a team to know each other and figure out who they are. There's technically nothing wrong with the show's current pacing even as it tries to rush to introduce all the major characters, but because there's little time to develop some of those bonds may feel less earned than they should. The artwork isn't too bad, The characters look cool and the costumes are fun. The only problem is the repetition, each character baisically has one outfit which they wear constantly. It's no big deal though. The designs for the characters are really good, their faces match their personalities well and over all the emotions are pretty nicely portrayed. Zakuro is offered a leading role in a movie in Hollywood, but this would require her to move to America. She has not decided whether to take the job or not, but she tells Ichigo that the girls still know nothing about saving the Earth and that she is losing patience with them. Meanwhile, Quiche learns that the conditions on his planet have gotten worse and that he must hurry to find the mew aqua so he can save his people. The girls also renew their search for mew aqua, however when the aliens appear, Zakuro refuses to transform. Mew Mint is hurt while protecting Zakuro, but Zakuro does nothing. After the battle at the café, Ichigo complains to Ryou who acts indifferent. The girls decide to confront Zakuro about her behavior. Masha leads them to a church where they find Zakuro with Quiche. a b "Mew Mew Power This Saturday". Anime News Network. February 15, 2005 . Retrieved March 10, 2009.
