About this deal

It is recommended thatX800 Fast Acting Cleaneris used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems”. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner should be used as a 1% solution in mains water to remove typical levels of deposits of iron oxide and calcium carbonate. Where systems are badly fouled, a higher concentration (up to 10%) is recommended. The associated ACOP goes on to explain that the ‘temperature in workrooms should normally be at least 16 degrees Celsius unless much of the work involves severe physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13 degrees Celsius.’ We recommend that a filter is installed on all systems, in conjunction with a cleaning of the system, to capture any existing debris. Our range of cleaners is comprehensive and can be choosed based on the scenario that presents itself. See our cleaners and system cleaning-related products here.

Circulating debris in central heating systems can cause wear and premature failure of pumps, valves and heat exchangers. Sentinel's filters are the perfect filter solution to protect the system against magnetic debris. litre, 1 300ml aerosol or 1 275ml tube of Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Larger systems should be dosed with twice this amount.

Solutions

X800 Fast Acting Cleanershould be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. The horizontal, front facing filter is designed to be fitted in the most restrictive of spaces whilst delivering fantastic debris capture. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner eliminates magnetite and limescale deposits from heat exchangers, radiators, underflor heating floors and pipework. It restores more uniform distribution of heat in existing installations, for a better heated home and reduced energy bills. A filter will help capture debris, in a collection chamber, and hold it there until the chamber can be emptied. For large or heavily fouled commercial systems, the cleaning period may have to be extended and the cleaning temperature elevated.

To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. Sentinel's range of filters is crafted to fit any situation. The filters we offerrange from ultra-compact, where space is at a premium, through the compact Vortex300 and the larger Vortex500, which is also suitable for heat pump installations. Sentinel X100 Inhibitor provides heavy-duty protection for commercial heating systems and closed cooling systems against limescale and corrosion. These two main culprits of commercial heating inefficiency can cause cold spots in the system, boiler inefficiency, noisy operation and other problems including system breakdown. When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun. To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593 it is recommended that this product is used withpowerflushing equipment. In this scenario, administer Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner via thepowerflushing equipment, following theequipment manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, circulate theproduct (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned tomaximum flow) for a minimum period of 1 hour or until satisfactory performance is restored.

Where systems are badly fouled, we recommend a longer circulation period (approximately 3-4 weeks). The product is not aggressive and can be safely left in the system for extended periods.
