About this deal

I used the Nikon Standard Profile since it adds a nice blend to the colors compared to Adobe Color or Adobe Standard which feels a little harsh at times. With a focus on Fujifilm photography, film photography projects, camera gears, travel journals, Hi-Fi audiophiles, hobbies, and reviews, Ivan’s blog offers a diverse range of intriguing content. And we believe that we have provided you all the relevant information here – along with answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Diffusion filters have been popular in cinematography for awhile, and people are beginning to realize that they’re great for still photography, too.

Whether using it on daytime for backlit scenes or during nighttime to enhance the halos of city lights and car lights it works very well if you like that style.

Your camera's lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. Many photographers use diffusion filters to create creative images for their travel, streets and portrait photography. Designed with a one-step philosophy, RitchieCam produces photos that are ready to be shared or printed the instant that they’re captured. It’s different though, because it’s not really a nostalgic experience that I’m trying to capture, but rather the way many of us see the world around us today. We believe that these are the best used in scenarios with direct light hits – which will help create a beautiful hazy look in the shot.

Notice how the direct light affects diffusion filters a lot, especially Cinebloom that completely spreads out the highlights over a big area. It doesn’t matter if you are a photographer or a videographer, as having a diffusion filter can help you achieve a dreamy look in both fields. One of my goals with the Moment CineBloom diffusion filter was to create a more film-like experience and in certain situations, it does just that. We might not have the exact thread size for your lens – but you can always go with the bigger-sized version and use it with the step-up ring.

When you first look at the image in the viewfinder, you might think that you ended up capturing a blurry image with the diffusion filter. For these night shots, I shot with the cloudy white balance which gives me very orange and yellow photos under this lighting, and I also under-exposed by about 1 stop. FWIW a pair of sheer fishnet stalkings stretched over the lens and a rubber band to hold it in place gets you the same look for less than five bucks.

I hope to announce the five Cinebloom diffusion filter winners on Monday (September 6th), so stay tuned! By entering, you agree to all of these rules, Instagram’s policies, and all laws that may govern this giveaway. You will achieve a dreamy, hazy glow near the subject – which you might feel like a blurry image – but it won’t be. The effect is ever so subtle but the more the light changes in a scene the more apparent the difference becomes using the filter and I find the effect quite pleasing. I can't post images of content i was paid for due to contractual reasons, but this is definitely a professional grade filter.Currently, the maximum diffusion that our filters offer is 20% - which might be too soft for some people. I didn’t walk all that far with my camera—going down a few blocks on one side of the road, and then back up on the other side. So, in a way, your recipes have provided me with the freedom to focus on what’s important, and that’s the photograph itself and what it means for my loved ones. Densities of 10%, ideal for smoothing and neutralizing halation on CineStill Films, and 20% is more suited for night footage.

Creates a soft quality of light and pastel effect, delicate and hazy cinematic effect, provides a soothing effect on skin tones. This is a Recipe that makes a lot of sense to always have programmed into your camera, since, no matter the light scenario, it’s going to give you good results. Think stills from a motion picture, or photographs captured with cinema film that has had the Remjet layer removed. I programmed into my Fujifilm X-T5 eight different Film Simulation Recipes, and shot with all of them. A diffusion filter gives halation with lights, creating a neutral “glow” around points of light, especially in low light scenarios.k. if referenced shortly or once in a while but I think we should live in a today's world and not try to mimicry the past.
