About this deal

Is it a manifestation of his extreme privilege that he seems not to realise that most British people struggle with the expression of feelings; that the desire to run a mile at the thought of “talking it out” isn’t limited to those with titles?

Sources close to King Charles III responded to the claims by insisting that he loves both of his sons and has kept communication channels open throughout the last few years, despite their relationship being occasionally tense. Yet we do know from our own history that Harry had some genuine issues with the press for example (the press also managed his image during his years of alcohol and drug abuse -which he admits to in the book) but all this was lost amongst so much needless complaints and insults directed towards others, and I just reached saturation point, with little accountability accepted or owned by Harry. Yet they DO NOT defend themselves, their wives, and the wider family because it is their motto to ‘never complain, never explain’. There was something to be said about the mystery and speculation surrounding the RF which allowed people like me to keep an open mind, because I thought there was more to it than what we were being told. The fiction of royalty can be maintained only if its characters are visible, hence its symbiotic but rarely straightforward relationship with the media.Tobias Ellwood, the chairman of the Defence Select Committee and former British Army captain, warned of the "security repercussions", while former defence secretary Lord Hutton of Furness believed that speaking about how many people he had killed "diminishes him. Harry is myopic as he sits at the centre of his truth, simultaneously loathing and locked into the tropes of tabloid storytelling, the style of which his ghostwritten autobiography echoes.

Conservative MP Bob Stewart questioned why Harry would share such details with the public, stating "Real soldiers tend to shy away. Over 15 hours in length, it's a big time commitment but listening to Harry share his story in his own words is totally worth it in my opinion! Pen Farthing slams Prince Harry book as "badly judged" as he claims he must now leave Kabul for fear of reprisals".William who conducts himself so well publicly, but is restricted by protocol and Kate who has always remained dignified and classy. An interview with Harry by Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes was broadcast on 8 January, as was an interview by Tom Bradby titled Harry: The Interview on ITV1. A third interview by Michael Strahan on Good Morning America and a special titled Prince Harry: In His Own Words, were broadcast on 9 January on ABC.

Prince Harry claims William 'lunged at him and used secret Diana code phrase' after Oprah interview". By writing a book that will be forever in print and with allegations that don’t stack up in my opinion, Harry has created this impossible situation for Diana’s eldest son, knowing that William won’t or can’t respond. what the princes must be thinking and feeling-and how their lives would play out from that point on. That, of course, is half-remembered Shakespeare: “As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods; They kill us for their sport,” says the blinded Gloucester in Lear.

From what Harry has shared it would appear these conversations did not go well, and neither son comes out blameless, particularly the one when William allegedly grips Harry’s shirt. So, by publishing this bitter book that is heavily weighted against and critical of William, Harry has likely created the second most difficult time in Williams life and this course of action was deliberate and venomous. He alleges that Camilla "sacrificed" him "on her personal PR altar" to improve her own public image and leaked "minute details" of a conversation she had with William to the press.

So my comments are based on what Harry has written in his book and in part his media circus surrounding its publication. He added that Harry was "pursuing US identity politics and casting slurs or racism around where none exists. He condemned pre-publication leaks that quoted the book out of context and denied "boasting" about his number of kills. Zadran condemned Harry's "cruel and barbaric actions" in taking "lives of dozens of defenseless Afghans". Dickie Arbiter, the former press secretary for Queen Elizabeth II, demanded an apology from Penguin Random House after a passage in the book claimed "the Queen's ex-press secretary" was among a group of royal commentators described as the "Fleet Street jury" and had stated Harry and his wife should "expect no mercy" after stepping back from their royal role. Yet he is that out of touch with the 'public mood' in the UK and so blinkered he would hope you would see him as a 'victim' and justified in ripping his family apart because he has had disagreements with his family, he was born second and had a smaller bedroom in Balmoral castle for example. In the book, Harry addresses and refutes the rumours that his father was not Charles, but one of his mother's lovers, James Hewitt.
