About this deal
Something that caught my eye is there seems to be 2 G.Fast options, since i don't know what's what I've left as default... Ideal partner device for DrayTek dual-WAN products or any other vendor's Ethernet WAN firewall. Reports DSL Line Status on DrayTek Vigor routers. It also is not necessary. Any client device on the OPenWRT should be able to reach the draytek interface as the OPenWRT ROUTES any request it cannot handle..upwards to the Draytek. I am using the same DNS, same router (vigor just set up as a bridge modem, same as the old TP-Link).
Vigor 167 - DrayTek
My FTTN connection is terrible so even if there's a slight chance of an improvement in stability/speeds by upgrading the fw... I'll do it.any client behind Openwrt can reach the Draytek on 192.168.0.1 (or any of Draytek's devices on that network) (unless something really screwy on your configs but, out of the box, ANY pair of routers will behave like this. Good result for Modem Code 5.12.18.16. Up over 6 days now- a record for our NBN FTTN connection. So I'll leave the posts there; worth trying this Modem Code.
Vigor167 | DrayTek Vigor167 | DrayTek
The Vigor167 is characterized by its diverse compatibility with most DSL variants and profiles. It supports everything from DSL Light to the most common VDSL and ADSL variants, such as Profile 17a, with and without vectoring, to Profile 35b supervectoring. The configuration and commissioning is, as is already well known from the Vigor160 series, very simple and intuitive and does not present the user with any unnecessary challenges so that the modem can start operating in the shortest possible time. Extensively tested to meet your expectations, the Vigor 167 provides a reliable and secure DSL connection and is compatible with all current UK UDSL2/ADSL+ networks. The Vigor 167 can be setup as a standalone VDSL modem to pair with existing Ethernet WAN routers/firewalls or it can be used as a basic router. Yes I tried it connected directly to my PC ,Not sure how to set up a static IP, but I'll have a google about that.
