The Buckingham Hotel is full of secrets, some of which could threaten national security and the lives of the staff and guests.I love how this book carried the stories of its main cast forward - enough that you felt progression, but still left wanting more.

The story mainly goes around the up and coming wedding of Nancy Nettleton and Raymond de Guise (aka) ray cohen, and all the trails and tribulations that surrounds it, but there is so much more happening around it that you become engrossed in each and every characters story. As a Strictly Come Dancing fan, I was surprised to discover Anton du Beke also had a career as an author, and I was intrigued to find out how skilled he was at writing. The third installment of the series follows those at the Buckingham Hotel through 1938, as the deal with both personal joy and the fear of the war that seems to be looming.

The addition of some Austrian and German characters brings alive the fear felt by a lot of people during those times. There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! I can see how how his books might become a bit of a secret pleasure for me, and that they can bring joy and pleasure to those who read them.
