About this deal

I'm already a firm fan of the Borrow a Bookshop series and couldn't wait to dive into the third instalment, wanting to find out what happened next. If you love books about bookshops, Something New at the Borrow a Bookshop by Kiley Dunbar is engaging women’s fiction with a side of romance.

Can you hear that?! It’s the call of the sea! Come escape to the magic of Clove Lore on the Cornish coast! Accompanied by her curious, smart five year old daughter Radia, they fall in love with the slower pace of the village and connect with some of the locals, something Joy never allows. The easiest way to find books to borrow is with the eBook Lending Library which shows books that have editions available through the Internet Archive. One thoughtful theme is definitely “supportive community.” The colorful cast of characters in this quaint seaside village rounds out the story. Other themes include helping others, the courage to carry on, supporting friends during their worst times, problem-solving, feeling safe, second chances, slow-burn romance, and hope for a brighter future. Recommending Something New at the Borrow a Bookshop Does the title attract your attention?! I fall hard for bookshop settings! I’m enthusiastically recommending this heartfelt story for fans of women’s fiction with substantial themes, for readers who appreciate happy endings and books about books, and for book clubs. I need to note that this book is the third in a series but it can be read as a stand-alone (I haven’t read the first one). This is a series I look forward to continuing!I had read one of the previous novels in Dunbar's Borrow a Bookshop series some months ago and vaguely recalled some of the villagers. But not clearly, which allows me to say that this story can be read as a standalone. The author has also covered a lot of difficult themes in this book and brought them out to the service such as cohesive control and difficult family relationships

Joy’s five-year-old daughter Radia Pearl Foley is already excited about the Children’s Corner. Although she is on five years-old she loves to read. I couldn't get enough of this story and was reading it every second I had over the course of a day. Just simply fabulous. Having said that, it is quite easy to read each book as a standalone. What happens in previous books is helpful to know but not essential. It just adds an extra layer of understanding and emotional connection to the returning characters that you meet in this book.

I loved that we also got to experience characters from the previous books and their development and how they interlinked with the new ones that we were introduced to in this instalment. These books are uplifting heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time and evoke a true community spirit and camaraderie. I slightly preferred book number two, but that’s only because of the Christmas connection - that will always win me round.

Aww I am someone new to the Borrow a Bookshop series! I was immediately drawn to this delightful cover and always enjoy a nice cozy book about books. If you are like me and new to this series, this bookstore is different than a typical bookshop is an Airbnb style bookshop located in a quaint village where digital fans can rent the space for a two-weeks and actually run the bookshop. Disclaimer: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Meanwhile, the force that is the indubitable Mrs Araminta Clove-Congreve has set herself up as wedding planner extraordinaire. Make way bridezilla Minty is on her way, planning the wedding of Elliot and Jude within an inch of everyone’s lives! This could most likely be read as a standalone, however I think for maximum enjoyment why not read the series so far, as they are all such enjoyable books it would be a shame to miss out on them.Create an entry for the Open Library using openlibrary.org for the URL. Tap on the library and sign in. I love little Radia but didn’t like when they shortening it to Rad as it often sounded like ‘Rats’.
