About this deal

The small-size aliens were fine and we could count them or just notice them around on different pages.

With its colourful and droll illustrations that leap off the page, perfectly matched by the playful text, this wonderful picture book is as much of a treat to read whether you're a 4-year old or a 40-year old (or more)! This book was shortlisted for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Award (2003) and won the Blue Peter Book of the Year (2004) and it is very easy to see why. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! It follows the story of Bob, an ordinary man with the extra-ordinary job of keeping the moon clean and entertaining moon tourists. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. Spaceman Bob embarks on new space adventures with a disappearing moon, a movie career, clone chaos, a right royal disaster and some heartless robots in this anthology. When Bob addresses human tourists, who wear bubble-shaped glass helmets over their ordinary clothes, he denies that aliens exist; observant readers will suspect otherwise. Simon has introduced loads of children's books but is perhaps best known for his series of books following Bob the astronaut including, The Alien-Spotter's Handbook and in the picture book sequel Bob's Best Ever Friend. I felt it both related to ordinary life (here on Earth) and yet provided some imaginative ideas about a place so far away and only seen (generally) at night.

Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Absolutely my favourite book to read to children, one of their favourites to listen to (though Daddy insisting on reading it never goes down well. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! Our 35 th original show was also our first co-production with Swindon’s Sixth Sense Theatre Company, inspired by the book of the same name by Simon Bartram.

Read more about the condition Very Good: A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition. Although it's pure fantasy, Bob does ordinary things, like taking sandwiches for his lunch and vacuuming to keep everything clean and tidy. The illustrations are beautiful and unlike any children's story I have come across before; detailed and realistic, they are wonderful discussion points with your children or school class. He exchanges his tweedy threads for a form-fitting white jumpsuit with a crescent moon on the chest, then boards a squat rocket for the moon. And Bob manages all of this whilst apparently blissfully unaware of some rather huge and important information! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. He never notices the short green guys who watch from a distance, steal a cupcake from his picnic lunch and crowd into a wordless spread to mug for readers. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. He knows almost everything there is to know about the moon - but there's something going on behind his back that he hasn't spotted.

Every year, Queen Battleaxe picks one unlucky astronaut to host her birthday party and now Bob has the horrible honour. Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab . The factual presentation works really well as does the reality tv-style look into Bob’s day – it’s a very clever device and allows for lots of humour, particularly when combined with the magnificent illustrations. was the 15th anniversary of the creation of Bob, Man on the Moon, celebrate with this anniversary edition. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). Having completed his daily crossword on the way, one of his first jobs is to clean up the mess he believes astronauts have created.
