George Adam MSP
George has been involved with the SNP since his late teens and has been active with the SNP in Paisley since the late 1980’s. Before being elected to Renfrewshire council in 2007 George worked in the motor industry as a Corporate Sales Manager.
George is a proud Paisley Buddie who has lived in the town all of his life.
George is the Senior Whip for Parliamentary Group of SNP MSPs and holds the position of Parliamentary Liaison Officer (PLO) to the Cabinet Secretary Communities, Social Security and Equalities and is currently a member of the Social Security Committee. He is the Convenor of the Cross Party Group MS. In addition, he is a member of the Cross Party Groups on Carers, Aviation, Epilepsy and Adult Learning.
George was councillor for Paisley South: Ward 5 in Renfrewshire Council from 2007 until 2012. He lives in the east end of Paisley with his wife Stacey.
Due to his wife Stacey, suffering MS, they are both members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Scotland.
George is a passionate supporter of St Mirren FC and follows the Scotland national football team when he can.
He was first elected as an MSP on May 6th 2011 and re-elected in May 2016 with a 20 fold increase in his majority.
There is an open door policy at Paisley’s Parliamentary Office, please feel free to come in to the office Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm to speak to George or a member of the team. If you have any concerns, want advice or simply want to chat and have a coffee with George, please feel free to come in.
Also, on the last Friday of each month between 4.30-5.30pm and the first Saturday of every month between 10-11am, a surgery is held at Paisley’s Parliamentary Office, again for anyone to come in to speak to George.
In addition, George holds a surgery at Foxbar Community Centre between 3-4pm every last Friday of the month, with the exception of January and bank holidays.
